The Deliveries and Fulfilment Data Analyst is a key role within the award winning (DataIQ – best place to work in data 2023) cinch Decision Intelligence function. The successful candidate will be responsible for building out our intelligence-led, data informed ethos across cinch.
The role
- Providing ‘best-in-class’ Data Analytics capabilities to cinch, supporting the following business areas; Transport & Logistics, Customer Fulfilment, Customer Experience, Sales Operations, & cinch stores.
- Supporting with defining, creating and tracking Deliveries & fulfilment Key Performance Indicators (e.g. Average number of cars delivered per day, Average cars delivered per driver, average deliveries per day, average dead-legs per day, average miles per driver).
- Working with Head of Operations (Delivery and Handover) to build a logistics resource forecast to support cinch’s sales plan.
- Providing actionable insights to minimise aborted deliveries; improve delivery punctuality and prioritise a faff-free customer experience.
- Creating pro-active data analysis with a keen focus on providing timely insights to help drive operational and cost efficiencies for deliveries and fulfilment, with measurable impact on P&L.
- Working closely alongside cinch’s wider Decision Intelligence teams, including; BI & Performance Reporting team, Data Engineering & ML Ops team, Digital Analytics & CRO team, Data Science team and other key stakeholders.
- Owning the Deliveries and Fulfilment data strategy and roadmap; ensuring the timely delivery of proactive, impactful analytics.
- Conducting regular reviews and data cleansing as necessary to ensure all data and reports are accurate, robust & reliable.
- Working with relevant source systems and owners to drive improvements in Deliveries and Fulfilment Data Quality; feeding back to data producers to monitor and improve data quality to ensure outputs reliable and accurate.
- Ensuring business requirements are being captured via standard processes, e.g. business issue / opportunity identification, hypothesis definition, data extraction, analytics, reporting and action implementation.
- Identifying common data analysis & insights requests across the functional area(s) you serve, which could be serviced by a single data product, avoiding duplication of work wherever possible. Working collaboratively with cinch’s Data Engineering & ML Ops Team to further develop transport, logistics and fulfilment data pipelines - sourcing and ingesting additional data where appropriate to support ongoing analytics and insights, as well as to assist in maintaining the integrity of cinch’s data.
- Working collaboratively with cinch’s BI & Performance Reporting team to enable development / creation of new Delivery & Fulfilment specific dashboards and ensure best-practise data visualisations are created to enable relevant insights can be provided to stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Being an evangelist for the cinch Decision Intelligence function and data in general across cinch, aiding to promote and enhance data literacy across the organisation.
- Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in the use of data and advanced analytical methods.

The person
- Demonstrable experience as a Data Analyst in transport, logistics / fulfilment, with a track record of producing data-driven insights and recommendations to various stakeholders.
- Passionate about surfacing insights from logistics / fulfilment deliveries data and optimising for cost efficiencies (i.e. routing / driver utilisation etc).
- Well-versed in being able to Able to provide pro-active insights as well as data-informed recommendations to enact change.
- Naturally inquisitive. You enjoy solving problems. Experienced at documenting your processes and explaining rationale to stand behind your recommendations.
- Self-starter, can demonstrate & adopt a pro-active approach and take initiative with minimal supervision / guidance. Entrepreneurial mind set.
- Strong communication skills (both written & oral). Compelling storyteller who can tailor their findings & recommendations to the intended audience(s), communicating them in succinct and inspiring ways in order to influence decision making.
- Pro-active identification of new opportunities to leverage data for user and business advantage.
- Experience with Python. Has an understanding of use of statistics & research designs to support with informing conclusions.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with business intelligence / data visualisation tools (preferably Power BI, but applicants with experience using other data visualisation tooling will be considered).
- Experience with SQL in extracting data from source systems.
- Intermediary to advanced Excel knowledge (V Lookup, pivot tables, macros).
- Strong stakeholder management, able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a cross functional team.
- Contribute to improvements in processes (technical and business) to be used by all Data Analysts.
- Good time management – ability to balance multiple tasks, and switches priority / focus as needed.
